Wounded Veteran Jason Smith on CrimeCast

Wounded Veteran Jason Smith on CrimeCast

Show notes

In this episode David and Clint talked with wounded Army veteran - Jason Smith about his life changing injuries! They talked through the mental and physical struggles and lessons learned! Plus - how all of those challenges have helped him become who he was meant to be! Also - Jason recently represented the Army at the Invictus Games and medaled in several events! It is a departure from our normal 'crime' conversations - however, one we feel is important for people to hear AND one that is very motivational!

Jason joined the Army as an infantryman in 2009 and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2012. 4-months into his deployment he stepped on a 15lb IED that resulted in the loss of both his legs and severe damage to his right hand. After learning to walk again and gaining the use of his hand in rehab – he retired in 2014 and moved to Chattanooga. He is married with 2 children and now works for a non-profit, Catch A Lift Fund, helping veterans get into shape through activity, nutrition, and emotional wellness.
